Help A Hero Fundraiser Dates

The 2026 Sport Clips Help A Hero fundraiser runs from October 5 through November 15. Donations support the VFW’s Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship program for service members and veterans pursuing academic or technical degrees.

On November 11, participating stores also donate $2 from every paid haircut to the scholarship program. That contribution is separate from the free haircut offer for veterans and service members.

About the Help A Hero Scholarships

The scholarship program provides eligible service members and veterans with up to $5,000 toward tuition and fees. It supports education at post-secondary schools, including technical and trade schools.

Applications are handled by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The listed application windows are January 1–April 30 for the fall semester and August 1–November 15 for the spring semester. Review the VFW’s current eligibility requirements and application instructions before applying.
